"White List" qualification into Japanese "pass"

On April 19, the China National Textile and Apparel Council held the industry self-discipline standard for Japan and the "white list" system explanation meeting. The meeting specifically explained the textile companies' ban on the use of specific azo dyes and "white list" qualification standards.

In recent years, product safety issues have received widespread consumer attention. In order to maintain textile safety standards in line with international standards, the Japan Fiber Industry Federation has established self-discipline standards for textiles that do not use specific azo dyes, and plans to perform specific azo dye testing on textiles imported to Japan.

Japan is the second largest export market for Chinese textiles, and 80% of textiles in Japan are from China. In order to avoid increasing the cost of export enterprises by batch testing of products, the China National Textile and Apparel Council and the Japan Fiber Industry Union reached a consensus on how to implement the standard through repeated consultations. That is, through the cooperation between the two parties, a “white list system” was established. In the case of avoiding the batch-by-batch testing of textile products, it provides consumers with safe and reliable textile products to reduce the costs of related businesses and ensure the smooth progress of China-Japan textile trade.

Enterprises with “white list” qualifications can be recognized by Japanese importers entering the system, and their products do not need to be tested for specific azo dyes when exported to Japan, which not only reduces the export costs of enterprises, but also allows companies to obtain more business opportunities. .

At present, the "White List Registration System" jointly established by the China National Textile and Apparel Council and the Japan Fiber Industry Alliance has been developed and put into trial operation. The examination of the "white list" qualification of the printing and dyeing enterprises has begun. All printing and dyeing companies will be able to register through the “white list registration system” and submit “white list” qualification applications to the China Textile Industry Association.

It is understood that at this stage, the "white list system" is only applicable to the Japanese market, but with the development of the "white list system" and the promotion of the China Textile Industry Association, the system may be accepted by more countries in Europe, America, and the like, becoming domestic textiles. Security management platform. The "white list" qualification will become the company's "green eco-label."
