Organic fiber textile manufacturing standards released

The International Working Group has established a global organic textile standard and certification. Global organic textile standard, referred to as gots recently developed a new global standard for the manufacture and certification of organic natural fiber textiles, referred to as gots version 4.0. In the new regulations, gots called for the ban on the use of native polyester fibers and Angora rabbit hair.

Compared with the version of gots3.0, the scope of the tested product has been expanded in the new standard. In the version 4.0 of gots, bedding, fashion accessories, cloth toys, fabric-containing personal care products are all included in the scope of the inspection.

Second, the use of certain chemical agents for further control, such as permanent adsorbable organic halides, will usually include some flame retardants, insecticides, anti-toxic agents, dry cleaners, and bleaches used in fabric production processes. In wool degreasers, etc., the content must be controlled within 1%; and aromatic solvents, phthalates used in softeners, and pvc are included in the banned list.

These standards will play an oversight role in the ecological impact of the textile industry supply chain. The certification bodies that have reached a strategic partnership with Goss will cover 62 countries and regions around the world. High-end brands in Europe and the United States will implement these standards. Therefore, it is expected that some textile export enterprises will be subject to this restriction.

Now that environmental protection is being promoted and animals are to be protected, many countries are resisting animal skins, so the prospects for the development of animal-like fur fabrics and accessories will grow.
