In the early 1970s, he was already active in major markets across China, working on the front lines of sales. By the 1980s, he returned to his hometown to start a real estate business, earning his first fortune. As the Sihui Jade Industrial Base began to take shape, Zeng turned his attention to jade, driven by his keen sense of opportunity. The journey wasn’t easy—initially, he faced challenges in stone processing and trade, which led to a temporary setback. But he never gave up. He traveled to Myanmar’s top jade mining areas, enduring long, hot trips under the sun, all in pursuit of his dream. For Zeng, jade is more than a commodity; it’s a cultural treasure deeply rooted in Chinese tradition. “Today, jade represents spiritual exchange between people and nature,” he says. “It needs to be preserved and promoted. I am willing to be the pioneer, the inheritor, and the ambassador of the Four Meetings.” His commitment reflects a deep respect for the art and culture of jade. With China’s booming economy, demand for jade products has surged. Zeng Huayu seized the opportunity to build a strong brand. He envisioned an international jade city with high-end boutiques and integrated processing and sales facilities. This model quickly attracted buyers, and the shops sold out rapidly. In 2007, Yuxin Hao opened its flagship store in the Jade City, positioning itself as a premium brand offering exquisite jade jewelry. The company became a comprehensive enterprise, covering raw material sourcing, design, carving, wholesale, retail, and research. Zeng focused on fine ornaments, especially rich and elegant bracelets, ensuring top-quality materials and craftsmanship. To maintain standards, he personally sourced jade from Yunnan and Myanmar, even at higher costs. His efforts paid off—many of Yuxin Hao’s works won prestigious awards, including silver medals at the “Tiangong Award” and the “Baihua Award.” These accolades solidified the company’s reputation. As Yuxin Hao expanded, it gained recognition as a credit institution in Sihui, earned the title of Top Ten Famous Shops in 2008, and was named a national jade shop in 2009. Branches were opened in Beijing, Guangzhou, and Pingzhou, reflecting its growing influence. To further strengthen its brand, Zeng outlined a three-step strategy: first, to consolidate the base in Sihui; second, to expand into Beijing and connect the north-south axis; third, to build a wide distribution network. His long-term vision is clear. In addition to building the company, Zeng also played a key role in establishing the Sihui Jade Association, aiming to elevate the industry as a whole. He recognized the need for unity among local merchants to improve competitiveness. Under his leadership, the association brought together Sihui jade traders, creating a stronger, more organized group. Zeng remains confident about the future of Sihui jade. “The Four Meetings will shine brighter tomorrow,” he says. “I am willing to be a faithful ambassador, bringing the beauty and spirit of Sihui jade to the world.”
